Welcome to the Carolina Garrison The Carolina Garrison is the North Carolina/South Carolina chapter of the 501st Legion, an all-volunteer international Star Wars costuming organization with more than 4,000 active members representing more than 45 nations. The 501st Legion's aims are to celebrate the Star Wars saga through costuming, to promote the quality and improvement of costumes and props, and most importantly to contribute to the local community through charity and volunteer work. The 501st Legion consists of Imperial (Dark Side) character costumes from the Star Wars films (A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, The Clone Wars) or from the Star Wars Expanded Universe and are listed on this page. All costumes must be accurate, complete, wearable, and of professional-quality as defined in the 501st Legion canon costuming standards. Costumes eligible for membership are to be executed in a realistic style. Alternately, Clone Trooper characters may be executed in the style consistent with the computer generated (3-D) 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie. NOTE: Star Wars costumes that are commercially available may not be acceptable for membership!
